
Hey Hey, my name is Iman Eli and I am an all-in-one influencer! I facilitate influence, relevancy and trust in business through strategy development, social media management, and much more. I have my hands in everything and am considered “the goat”. For Devenere, I am the Media Relations Manager, on any given day, I handle social media management, public’s relations services, videography & photography, production set management, casting, creative direction, content creation, and event coordinating. I am a native of Houston (hard to find I know right! ) and a graduate of Texas Tech University. I have worked in various industries such as Marketing, Food & Beverage, and Radio/Television. I build winning teams and strategies.
Chasity Henry is our lead associate focused on privacy law, cybersecurity, and technology transactions. She is a litigation and transactional attorney representing clients in civil disputes, intellectual property, business, technology, and entertainment matters.
As a native Houstonian, Chasity knew she wanted to join the elite 5% of Black legal professionals early on. Her interest in the law led Attorney Henry to earn her Bachelor of Arts degree from Spelman College, where she majored in Political Science and minored in Spanish on a pre-law track. As an undergraduate student at the number one HBCU, Attorney Henry was committed to social justice as she served as the Political Action Co-Chair for Spelman’s Chapter of the NAACP. Additionally, Attorney Henry volunteered weekly to assist marginalized communities in the West End area of Atlanta.
Prior to entering law school, Attorney Henry gained experience in the legal field, working as a legal assistant and legal intern for boutique firms. These positions garnered her experience in drafting legal documents and advocating for clients during difficult situations.
During her tenure at Thurgood Marshall School of Law, Attorney Henry maintained academic excellence, earning multiple CALI Awards and graduating in the top 3%. Outside of her academic career, Attorney Henry was a Legal Writing Advisor and Lead Articles Editor for the Thurgood Marshall Law Review, where she showcased her talent for efficient legal research and writing in her published article, Knot Today: A Look at Hair Discrimination in the Workplace & Schools. Additionally, Attorney Henry served as a Student Attorney in the Criminal Defense Clinic, providing pro bono legal services to indigent individuals in the Harris County area.
After earning her Juris Doctorate a semester early in December 2021, Attorney Henry went on to sit for the February 2022 Uniform Bar Exam (UBE). Attorney Henry successfully passed the exam on the first try, scoring high enough to be eligible to practice in all UBE jurisdictions.
Immediately after becoming licensed in Texas, Attorney Henry joined The Devenere Law Collective working on civil disputes, estate, and probate matters, DTPA claims, business governance, and family law matters. With a passion for education and a keen interest in privacy, Attorney Henry re-enrolled in school, earning her Master of Laws in Privacy Law & Cybersecurity from the University of Southern California Gould School of Law in May 2023. Her education at USC was focused on current privacy regulations, internet law, intellectual property, and entertainment law. In addition to her master’s degree, she also earned a Certificate in Technology and Entrepreneurship Law.
While a full-time student at the University of Southern California and associate at the firm, Attorney Henry passed the February 2023 California Bar Exam. She hopes to be sworn into the State Bar of California by the end of 2023 to begin navigating the legal market across state lines.
With her strong legal acumen, professionalism, and commitment to innovative client service, Attorney Henry is a valuable asset to The Devenere Law Collective. Her entrepreneurial spirit and passion for the law make her a reputable legal professional and an essential member of the firm’s legal team.
Jana was born and raised in Lafayette, Louisiana, where she enjoyed gumbo and the New Orleans Saints. In 2006, she moved to Austin, Texas, where she graduated from Lyndon B. Johnson High School the following year. Jana obtained a bachelor’s degree in Government from The University of Texas at Austin in 2011.
After taking a short break from her educational and professional pursuits, Jana moved to Houston to attend Texas Southern University’s Thurgood Marshall School of Law. During her law school career, she served as National Secretary for the National Black Lawyers Association from 2015-2016. Jana obtained her Juris Doctorate degree in 2016 and also holds a Master of Science in Negotiation and Conflict Resolution, with a focus on mediation and negotiation training, from Creighton University.
Jana has spent a large part of her career as a practicing attorney serving families, easing their circumstances during difficult times of loss. A significant component of her practice has been to help families secure real property and maintain possession of it for generations to come.
Jana enjoys a busy life with her husband, Ryan, and their son, Langston.
Meet Attorney Kashmire Terry who has a passion - for life, a zest for law, and a love for her clients.
Ms. Terry’s earlier education and experience included obtaining a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science Degree from California State University Los Angeles prior to graduation she clerked for the San Bernardino County Public Defender’s Office in the Civil Commitment Department for Sexually Violent Crimes. Knowing that a legal career was in her path, she went on to obtain her certification as a Paralegal from the University of California Los Angeles as well as her Juris Doctorate degree from Texas Southern University Thurgood Marshall School of Law.
California offered her the perfect environment to kick start her career in law, and develop a love for entertainment law, in which she was able to gain experience in copyright agreements, writer disputes, and royalty claims with the Glenn Litwak Law Firm. With the vest knowledge in her pocket, she was able to pursue her career in Houston, Texas.
While attending TMSL, Attorney Terry was able to expand her knowledge and worked in the school’s Criminal Defense Clinic as a student attorney in the Harris County 178th Criminal District Court. This in turn helped sharpen her networking skills, which pioneered her passion for business law. This discovery gave her the opportunity to practice trademarks, litigation, and corporate governance with The Roxell Richards Law Firm and The Robinson Law Group. Attorney Terry is the epitome of the full package, as she is proficient in mass tort claims, criminal defense, and civil litigation.
Throughout her practice, she has worked within the LGBTQ and minority communities. She has found that what people want most is to be treated fairly and objectively, irrespective of their background, or past experiences. Her interaction within these communities has allowed her an innate understanding that the law is intimidating to most people making it her obligation to not only educate with understanding, but also encourage active participation within the system to show that it is accessible.
In November of 2023, Attorney Terry was appointed as an Associate Municipal Court Judge for the City of Houston. There she handles criminal cases and serves her community by contributing to the movement of making the justice system reflective of the diverse community in which it serves.
Today, Attorney Terry is the creator and the managing partner of the Devenere Law Collective, PLLC. When she is not on the bench, she is helping to manage a diverse group of attorneys with various practice areas.
Her expertise within Devenere Law lies in developing, building, and systemizing the procedures of small business and corporations with transparency and impartiality. With strong experience in contract law, business litigation, and negotiating transactions, she has managed multi-million-dollar entertainment deals and serves as general counsel for company’s ranging from the construction industry to movie studios. She has a strong record in representing individuals from all walks of life and backgrounds. Her passion for legal work is significant, but she still finds time to make a difference in her local community of Houston, Texas by organizing minority scholarship events and women empowerment initiatives.
