Tier 1

A Day in the Life Youth Program

The Devenere Law Collective "A Day in the Life" Youth Program is designed to inspire and plant the seed of possibility in the next generation of legal advocates. Through this immersive experience, participants have the opportunity to see a reflection of themselves in the field of law while building confidence, curiosity, and a sense of belonging within the legal community.

Over the course of three engaging days, students are paired with a DLC attorney for hands-on exposure to the daily practice of law. The program includes interactive sessions such as a networking event or Q&A with DLC attorneys, giving participants the chance to ask questions, gain insight and connect directly with legal professionals who share their passion for justice and advocacy.

Requirement for Enrollment

Participants must be between 10 and 18 years old.
The program is offered exclusively during the summer.

Tier 2

Pre-Law Students

The Devenere Law Collective Pre-Law Internship offers undergraduate students an immersive introduction to the legal profession. Designed for students actively preparing for law school, this program provides the opportunity to work alongside experienced attorneys and legal professionals in a collaborative, hands on environment.

Interns gain practical experience through legal research, document drafting, case preparation, and client outreach, while also learning about the ethical and procedural foundations of legal practice. In addition to day-to-day responsibilities, participants receive mentorship from DLC attorneys, engage in professional development workshops, and explore various areas of law to better understand potential career paths.

The program's goal is to equip aspiring law students with the skills, insight, and confidence needed to succeed in law school and beyond.

Requirements for Enrollment:

  • Must be a undergraduate student actively enrolled in an accredited college or university
  • Offered during the summer only for 12 weeks, enrollment opening and closing dates will be posted on the DLC website
  • This is an unpaid internship

Tier 3

Law Clerk Program

The Devenere Law Collective Law Clerk Program offers law students a dynamic opportunity to apply their classroom knowledge in a real world legal working environment. This immersive experience pairs each apprentice with a DLC attorney whose practice area aligns with the student's specific interests, providing personalized mentorship and guided professional development.

Through direct shadowing of an assigned DLC attorney, structured curriculum modules, and active participation in casework, apprentices gain deeper insight into legal strategy, client relations, and procedural practice. The program also offers flexibility for students seeking to earn academic credit in coordination with their law schools.

At its core, the Law Clerk Apprenticeship Program reflects DLC's vision to change the narrative of how law is practiced by upholding an unrelenting standard of representation, impeccable quality in service, and genuine care for every client while cultivating the next generation of innovative legal professionals.

Requirements for Enrollment:

  • Must be a Rising 2L and above
    ("Rising" refers to the summer period following completion of the prior academic year; e.g., a Rising 2L is a student who has completed their first year and is entering their second year in the fall.)
  • Program runs June through September (ending September 30); enrollment opening and closing dates will be announced on the DLC website
  • This is an unpaid clerkship but has the opportunity to possibly be hired on with the DLC team
